Everything I Own Fits on This Walking Cart
Everything I own fits on this walking cart.
I am currently walking from Canada to Los Angeles. The possessions that I own are the product of over a decade of simplifying and downsizing my life with the aim to live sustainably and in alignment with Earth. In this video I share in some depth about the possessions that I own.
The following is a detailed itemized list of every single possession that I own. Within this page you will find links to explore these topics further and resources to pursue a life in loving action with Earth, humanity and the plants and animals we share this home with. I welcome you to explore with me.

Items I Sometimes Have or Have Contemplated Having for this Trip:
Other items that I sometimes have: incense, flint and steel, metal plate, more towels/hand towels
Items I’ve contemplated having for this trip: metal water bottle, thermos, rain jacket and pants or poncho, iPod/music playing device, thicker sleeping mat, tripod for camera, battery to charge devices.
Digital and Online
Although the computer itself is just one item, within it millions of items can be contained.
I have been diligently downsizing my digital realm.
I have deleted 90% of my stored documents and 99% of my photos and videos.
By the end of the year, I will make every digital item publicly available under Creative Commons.
All of my online work is already licensed under a Creative Commons Universal License, meaning it is publicly owned. I don’t own any of it.
I have deleted all of my photos and videos, except one folder of public photos that I have for media.
I have social media accounts (YouTube, Facebook and Instagram) of which I have downsized the content substantially. I deleted over 75% of all content across all channels and kept just what I feel is of most service and most recent. Technically the companies own these pages, not me, but I still consider it some form of ownership.
I will be sharing about this in more depth in late 2024.
Regeneration, Equity and Justice
In 2020, I founded a small grassroots nonprofit and am the primary steward of this service. I’d like to find support to decentralize my role in the mission and remove myself from the finances.
We have a very small amount of material possessions including the books I’ve published, seeds that we distribute and a small amount of office materials and tools for our seed supply.
Items I Don’t Have
These are some of the key items that I don’t have, including links that share more details:
Car
Cell phone
Identification (No driver’s license, passport, birth certificate, or social security card)
Home or Mortgage
Keys (no house, no car, no bike, no storage unit, no padlock)
Land
Credit card/debit card
Bank account
Bills
Financial Life Savings or Retirement Fund
Financial Investment
Insurance
Debt
You may have guessed that I don’t have any children. That is by choice. I am not married, nor in a romantic relationship. That is also by choice.

I also do not have a “job.” I am not paid for my work. I am simply a servant to Earth. Most weeks I work well beyond a “full-time job” but I am paid in non-monetary means, rather in the benefit I bring to the world through my service.
My Net Worth at the time of publishing is approximately $3,000. I publish my net worth here.
