This is the Deuces Food Forest, created by Ramona Brayboy in the Deuces of South St. Pete.
When I met Ramona at an SUAC meeting in early 2023, I lit up when she told me she is creating a Food Forest in the heart of The Deuces. Through this Food Forest, they seek to end their dependence on the grocery store by growing their own food and building up their community!
There is a powerful movement of revitalization taking place in this community and I am humbled and honored to get to play a very small role in this.
Let’s build up this food forest together!
We are looking for volunteers to provide a little extra support to help us with establishing the food forest. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer consistently, have a truck to use to transport some materials, or can bring some tools to the event.
We are also looking for donations of plants, materials and funds.

Our mission is to assist people in attaining Food Freedom – breaking free from the global, industrial food system and growing their own food! We do this by providing the Food Forest Starter Bundle on a suggested donation basis. This bundle includes 30 of the easiest to grow, most productive foods in Florida and is ideal for laying the foundation for a food forest or creating The Survival Garden.
