Food Freedom is an Experiment in the Gift Economy

Food Freedom

This Book is Not For Sale

Food Freedom is an experiment in the gift economy and we offer it to you on a donation basis.

We invite you to share from your heart with joy. Your donation can be made as a financial contribution or as a commitment to utilize this book as a tool for liberation.

We are hoping that those who have the ability to contribute will and this will allow us to gift the book freely to everyone who has financial barriers. All requests for Food Freedom will be fulfilled, regardless of financial donation (even $0). Money is no barrier to access this information.

We have opted out of interacting in a linear manner and have adopted a circular form of interacting. We believe what goes around will come around. We believe that by taking care of others, we will be taken care of as well.

100% of Profits Donated to Gardens of Liberation

100 percent of profits from this book – after book distribution – are donated to Gardens of Liberation, supporting Indigenous and Black-led food sovereignty initiatives. Our mission is to support the communities most impacted by the destructive food system while contributing to the healing of Earth and liberation of humanity through fostering relationships with our food and our plant and animal communities.

By sharing Food Freedom from a place of abundance to all, we are open for abundance to return. As the financial resources we receive go beyond our costs to produce and distribute this book, our ability to support individuals and organizations within the food sovereignty movement is strengthened.

Gardens of Liberation provides resources to grassroots organizations — primarily Indigenous and Black, women-led — working to create regenerative, equitable and just food systems.

See our book homepage for details.

Financial Transparency

Food Freedom is provided for free, within our means, to libraries, schools, grassroots organizations, etc. who request free copies. We also provide Food Freedom as a gift to all Indigenous and Black communities and individuals who request copies at no cost to them.
Donations we receive cover the costs of providing books, including the cost of the book, administration and logistics and promoting the book. 100% of the proceeds beyond these costs are donated to Gardens of Liberation.

We are a very small team here at Regeneration, Equity and Justice in service to Earth, humanity and our plant and animal relatives. We are not for profit and 100% of donations are used in service.

Our cost is ~$3.00 per physical book/~$3.75 per book including development, plus ongoing operation costs and shipping.

Note: I have committed for life to donating 100% of my earnings from media (including books) to grassroots initiatives and to earning no more than the federal poverty threshold per year. Learn more about my vows. I don’t earn a penny from the books I write.
