We are working with environmental non-profits that are part of the solution to the issues that Off the Grid Across the USA is bringing to our attention. Each of these environmental nonprofits are researched by 1% for the Planet and approved to meet their environmental criteria. They are “bona fide environmental groups, with clear objectives and a track record of effective environmental initiatives.” If 1% for the Planet believes in them so do we.
As a donor you can rest assured that your money will be used efficiently to create a healthier planet.
Each organization was along the bike route therefore we spent time with each of them.

The protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network.
They believe access to clean water is a fundamental right of all living beings. They seek to significantly reduce uses of water that are wasteful and water pollution, as well as the environmental, economic and health hazards it poses by working to elevate and sustain the topic of water pollution in the national dialogue.
They envision a world where water is not wasted and all forms of potential water pollution are captured and recycled in an economically sustainable manner before entering and polluting any body of water.

The Surfrider Foundation is a grassroots nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network. Founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary surfers in Malibu, California, the Surfrider Foundation now maintains over 250,000 supporters, activists and members worldwide.
