Description

This Community Seed Pack includes a variety of hearty veggies, healing greens and tasty herbs to nourish the bodies and minds of your community. Plus a mix of beautiful and fragrant flowers for our bee, butterfly and pollinator friends. Because insects and plants are a part of our community, too!

These seeds may be tiny, but they are not to be underestimated! To buy each of these open-pollinated*, non-GMO seed varieties would cost over $200 if ordered from a seed company. Used mindfully, you can grow well over $10,000 worth of food with just the seeds in this Community Pack!

There are enough seeds in this pack to fill:

  • 30+ 4’x8’ raised beds planted densely
  • Farm: 900 row feet planted / 18 50’ rows / (50’ x 75’ area) / 1/10th of an acre

Who is The Community Seed Pack for / Our Mission

This Community Pack is for community gardens, school gardens, community food initiatives, and small farms, nonprofit farms and community farms!

We’ve selected the easiest plants to grow, specifically for new gardeners, helping to ensure the highest chances of success and time efficiency!

Let your garden serve as a celebration of life and an oasis to practice presence and gratitude, while taking power back from the global, industrial food system and putting that power back into your own hands and the hands of your community. Our mission is to create food sovereignty in our communities and take power back from the global, industrial food system. We do this by providing Free Seed Packs to over 10,000 people with low access to healthy foods each year.

For help starting your garden, please read our Gardening Guide.

See our Community Pack Growing and Resource Guide. This is a printable guide to use with your Community Pack including a list of what is in the pack, a picture key to identify the seeds, information about the seeds, planting details, a seed-saving guide and a resource guide. If using the guide online, you can click through to helpful resources we have provided.

What’s AMAZING about this pack?

  • We’ve selected the easiest to grow plants, catered specifically for new gardeners.
  • Save money and time! Purchasing each of these seeds individually would cost you 2-3 times more and take way more time.  (We provide the amount of each seed you need, an alternative to buying large packs where you’ll have a bunch of extra seeds.)
  • Variety! The basil is a mix of 5 types of basil. There are 4 types of kale. Your bed of kale will be a surprise of variety! This variety helps to ensure success too!
  • We’ve included a step-by-step guide and a beginner gardening video series on how to grow this food – ensuring the highest chances of success and time efficiency!
  • This is just the beginning! You can even let the plants go to seed and have this pack continue providing seeds year after year.
  • PLUS + Your generosity helps others to grow their own food!
