5. Become an apprentice: get the hands-on skills you’re looking for with someone who really knows what they’re doing.

8. Take the opportunity to go deep in your mind through the practice of Vipassana: do a 10-day silent meditation through the organization called Dhamma. This is available on a donation basis and there are centers all around the United States and the world, so it’s very accessible.

9. Immerse yourself in the practice of non-violent communication, or compassionate communication to bring more harmony into all of your relationships: read the book, visit their website and use their free resources, or take classes with a skilled facilitator, whether online or in person.

10. Through dumpster diving you can tap into the incredible resource of food that is going to waste and eat for free.

11. You can join a radical group like Food Not Bombs to find nourishing food for yourself and to share it with your community.
